Tristan is an award-winning South African writer, director and photographer whose work moves between intimate human stories and ambitious cinematic worlds. Drawn to the strange, the tender and the unexpected, he builds films around vivid characters, striking imagery and an emotional core. His approach pairs a photographer’s eye for composition with a storyteller’s attention to performance, rhythm and detail—whether the result is quietly moving, darkly surreal or exuberantly funny. His work spans commercials, music videos and narrative film, including campaigns for Guinness, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Netflix, T-Mobile and Toyota, the music video for Disturbed’s “Bad Man,” and The Fragile King, a five-time SAFTA-winning feature.
